Vintage 1927 A richly colored serving bowl from the Homer Laughlin China Company. According to Lehner's Encyclopedia of Marks, the mark on the bottom of this bowl dates it to November, 1927. This
vintage piece is in remarkably good condition to be 80 years old. It
measures 9 inches wide at the rim and 2 inches high. The center is
decorated with an elaborate basket holding fruit and floral sprays
in yellow, brown, charcoal, and black; it is very intact with little
wear and only faint crazing. There are light hairlines The rim was probably originally decorated in an orange luster, which seems to have been the fad at the time. This bowl has lost most of that, and what remains (on about half the bowl rim) is a faint yellow.

MAJESTIC
Creamer A richly decorated creamer in the pattern MAJESTIC from Homer Laughlin China Company, in the Brittany shape, described as "Multicolor floral, burgundy band." This pretty creamer is beginning to show its age with browning (it could use a strong peroxide bath to brighten it up); it is not as bad as the flash of my camera makes it look! There are no chips or cracks, but there is crazing throughout. The gold trim is intact, as is the burguny band and floral decoration. This
piece is stamped under glaze in green with the Homer Laughlin logo,
and the manufacturing marks |
