Vintage Homer Laughlin China Company 11-5/8 inch oval platter, in a pattern similar to Ferndale and Cashmere, but without the creamy rim. I believe the shape is "Swing." Decorated with floral rose sprays in pink and yellow. It measures 11-5/8 inches long and 9-2/8 inches wide at the middle. The condition is very good, with no chips or cracks or other flaws that I can find. The gold trim is a bit worn, as shown in the photo. Stamped "Homer Laughlin / Made in U.S.A. / E39 N6." Also has gold "Bakerite / 22 K. Gold" stamp. Price: $18
Vintage 1927 A richly colored serving bowl from the Homer Laughlin China Company. According to Lehner's Encyclopedia of Marks, the mark on the bottom of this bowl dates it to November, 1927. This vintage piece is in remarkably good condition to be 80 years old. It measures 9 inches wide at the rim and 2 inches high. The center is decorated with an elaborate basket holding fruit and floral sprays in yellow, brown, charcoal, and black; it is very intact with little wear and only faint crazing. There are light hairlines or stress cracks on the underside base, which do not show on the front.
