Vintage Turquoise Fiesta
9.5-inch Luncheon Plate

A vintage (glazed foot) 9.5 inch luncheon plate from Homer Laughlin's Fiesta line in the color "turquoise."

The plate has one very visible gouge in the surface (10:00 in the photo); there are no other chips or cracks that I can find. There is light utensil wear, consistent with use and not visible except at an angle in the light. The base is unmarked and the foot ring is glazed.

4 Pieces, Contemporary White Fiesta

Four pieces of Fiesta in the contemporary White color:

• 2 Salad Plates: Just a tad under 7.25 inches wide across the rim.
• 1 Tom and Jerry Mug: About 3-3/8 inches high by 3-5/8 inches wide at the rim.
• 1 Nappy (bowl): About 6-7/8 inches wide at the rim by 1-7/8 inches high.

All four pieces are in very good condition. There are no chips or crazing, and few utensil marks or scratches. The pieces look barely used.The nappy and the mug have an incised, under glaze Fiesta old-style mark (photos at right); the salad plates are stamped "Genuine / Fiesta / HLCo / USA." Price: $12.00.

Eight pieces of Homer Laughlin China Fiestaware, A very pretty "gusto bowl" from Homer Laughlin China Fiestaware in the contemporary color cobalt blue. Included in this auction are these:

The gusto bowl measures about 5.75 inches wide at the rim and 3 inches high at the side. All of these pieces are in very good condition, with little sign of use. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, or other flaws. The two coffee cups have a bit splotchy glazing, but that seems to be somewhat typical of newer Fiesta. Price: $15.00.
