Laurella Shape:

Bread and Butter Plates

Four lovely vintage bread and butter plates in the Laurella shape from Universal Cambridge. I believe the colors are coral, green, blue, and yellow. They are decorated with an embossed laurel-leaf pattern around the rims (see item 108021 at replacements.com for details).

These plates are in fair to good condition. The coral plate has a small chip on the underside of the rim; the green plate has a rim flake. The yellow and blue appear in very good condition; all four have medium utensil marks. Each plate measures 6-5/8 inches wide.

All four have a stamp for: LAURELLA / UNIVERSAL CAMBRIDGE, O.

Vintage Universal China, Ballerina Shape:
Sugar Bowl with Lid

A lovely vintage sugar bowl (with lid) in the Ballerina shape from Universal China. It's decorated with a decal pattern of leaves in green, rust, and gold (see replacements.com pattern 186331).

This sugar bowl is in good condition. There is one light chip on the under-edge of the lid (just visible in the photo below). There are no other chips, cracks, flaws, or crazing that I can find. The piece measures 6.5 inches wide across the handles, and it sits 4 inches tall with the lid on.

Dutch Windmill

A lovely decorative dinner plate from Universal Potteries (Cambridge, Ohio, from 1934 to 1976) in the line called "Camwood Ivory" in a pattern called "Windmill" (replacements #247187 ).

The gold-trimmed plate features a lovely decal pattern with windmills on a river bank, a person standing on the bank by a boat, clouds and trees, and pink, yellow, and blue tulips in the foreground.

It measures almost 10 inches wide across the rim. It is in very good condition, with light but visible crazing on one side of the face, and no chips, flakes, hairlines, or other flaws. The decal is very rich and colorful, with sharp detail. There are very little signs of utensil marks (even at an angle in the light) or scratches to the decal decoration.

The plate has a green stamped mark that reads: OVEN PROOF / CAMWOOD IVORY / UNIVERSAL - CAMBRIDGE / Made in U.S.A. Price: $25.
