Vintage Universal China, Ballerina Shape:
Sugar Bowl with Lid

A lovely vintage sugar bowl (with lid) in the Ballerina shape from Universal China. It's decorated with a decal pattern of leaves in green, rust, and gold (see replacements.com pattern 186331).

This sugar bowl is in good condition. There is one light chip on the under-edge of the lid (just visible in the photo below). There are no other chips, cracks, flaws, or crazing that I can find. The piece measures 6.5 inches wide across the handles, and it sits 4 inches tall with the lid on.

This piece is unmarked. Price: $7.50.

Ballerina
Shape:

Chartreuse Creamer

A lovely vintage creamer in the Ballerina shape from Universal Potteries. It's decorated with a wonderful yellowy-green glaze called "chartreuse" (replacements.com item
# 107998).

This creamer displays nicely, but is heavily crazed (particularly on the exterior). See the large photos at top for closeups; the crazing is much lighter on the interior. There are no other flaws that I can find (no chips or cracks). The piece measures 5.5 inches long from spout tip to handle, and it sits 3.25 inches high at the spout end.

This piece is clearly marked with the Universal "Ballerina" logo: "Universal - Oven-Proof - Union Made in U.S.A."

Price: $5.
