Edwin
M. Knowles It may not be Homer Laughlin, but Knowles' semi-vitreous dinnerware is just as lovely. This charmingly elegant Victorian-style platter is in wonderful condition, with a very solid gold chi (key) pattern around the rim. The gold trim and verge (inner ring) are also in solid condition. Inside the gold rim is a floral garland of tiny blue and pink roses, interspersed with larger bouquets in pink and yellow. This piece is identifiable at Replacements.com as item 185142, pattern KN0584. They describe it as "Greek key on gold, floral swag." The hard-to-photograph mark (top, right) reads "Semi Vitreous / Edwin M. Knowles / China Co. / Made in U.S.A. / 44-10." Price: $20 |
