Vintage Restaurant Ware from Mayer China
Rimmed Soup Bowl, "Avalon" Pattern

A wonderfully designed restaurant ware rimmed soup bowl from Mayer China.

This solid vintage piece measures 9 inches wide at the rim and sits 1.5 inches high. It is decorated around the rim and sides with a transferware art deco or art nouveau pattern with flowers and bands in a rich golden brown, green, yellow, and blue design.

This piece is in very good condition. There are some utensil marks (fairly light) to the center of the base. The rim is richy colored and the design is very intact. There are no chips or cracks.

This piece of restaurant ware is stamped (underglaze) on the bottom with "Mayer China / Avalon Pattern / Copyright." There is a second green oval stamp for "Mitchell Woodbury CO. / Mayer China / Boston." Price: $9.00
