Beautiful
Small Vintage Vase from A gorgeous hand-painted small vase with two handles, with an elegant design of large red (almost orange) flowers (I think poppies) with vining green leaves. This little gem is from the former Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). I thought the maker was "Coronet," but a little research shows apparently that Coronet was a New York import company in business in the 1930s (see details below). This pretty vase measures about 4.75 inches high and 4 inches wide across the bulbous middle. It is in very good condition, with just a bit of wear to the red trim around the rim. There are no cracks or chips or crazing. The piece is stamped in black with a crown logo circled by a wreath, and the words "Trade Mark / Coronet / Czechoslovakia Registered." Price: $25.00.

Porcelain Plate with
Gold Trim from A charming hand-painted small plate with gold trim and delicate pink roses. This little gem is from an area called Silesia (formerly part of Prussia or Germany, then Austria, now split between the Czech Republic and Poland). I have matched the mark with Porzellanfabrik Hermann Ohme (in business from 1882 until 1930; see the link for company details; they manufactured porcelain blanks that were shipped to the US and UK for painting). The pretty plate measures 6.5 inches wide. It is in very good condition, with just a bit of wear to the trim. There are no cracks or chips or crazing, and the hand-painted floral designs are fully intact. The piece is stamped in green with a crown logo, stylized "O H", and the word Silesia. Price: $7.50.
