1940s Cavitt-Shaw
"Rosita" Fruit/Dessert Bowls

Two lovely vintage fruit or dessert bowls (I thought they were cereal bowls, but the dimensions match the dessert bowl shape) from W.S. George, marked Cavitt-Shaw. The decal design of pink roses on a creamy background is called "Rosita," with pink and blue bands around the rim (see item #28165 at replacements.com, dated circa 1946.)

These vintage bowls measure 5-5/8 inches wide. They are in only fair condition. Both bowls have small fleabites on the rim, with some very light browning. The rose decals are very intact, but the pink and blue bands show a bit of wear. There are no cracks or hairlines that I can find, and not much in the way of utensil marks. The bowls do make a nice display.

The base is marked "Cavitt-Shaw Division / W. S. George / 1 49 A." Price: $10.00.
