Gold
Filigree Trim Offered for auction: Five wonderfully designed plates in the venerable "Colonial Couple" (or Victorian Couple) pattern. I believe these plates are from Harker in a shape called Royal Gadroon (as shown at replacements.com).
The smaller 6.25-inch dishes (bread and butter plates) are not in as good condition. They have discoloration in spots, chips to the rim (on the back), a couple of hairline cracks, and wear to the pattern (especially on one). They would not be appropriate for use, but do make a pleasing display. (More pictures available on request.) Price: $25.00. |

Vintage
Decorative Plate
This old plate is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, or flakes, and no signs of use (such as utensil marks). It is free of crazing and other usual flaws. There is dried-on masking tape on the back, as shown in the photo at right. It is marked in green on the bottom with"HARKER / 1840." (Lehner's Encyclopedia of Marks dates this mark to the 1950s.) Price: $25. |
