5 Vintage Art Deco
"Hand Painted"
Dessert Plates, Cups, Saucers

Signed "Ges. Gesch. Germany"

Ges Gesch is apparently the German abbreviation for "patent approved." The fact these hand-painted pieces are marked "Germany" would indicate pre-World War II (since they clearly are not new). They are in good condition, with a little flea-biting on one cup and one saucer and one plate. Several cups have some bumps or pits on the inner-base, which appears original to manufacture.

An amazing set; at replacements.com, a teapot lid is valued at $89.99. Price for the set: $49.

Fabulous Selb Bavaria
Heinrich & Co.

Vintage Cups & Saucers

Signed "Anna Marie 1965"

Two wonderful hand-decorated translucent cups and saucers from Heinrich & Co (Selb Bavaria), with pink flowers on one and blue on the other, both with gold trim. The exterior of each cup is very faintly pink or blue to match.

The footed cups measure 4 inches wide at the rim, and sit 2.25 inches high. The saucers are 6 inches wide.

Both sets are in very good condition. The floral branches are richly colored (although not the most elegantly drawn I've seen!). The gold trim around the outer rim is very intact and solid. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, or fleabites, nor any visible crazing that I can see.

The saucers are marked H&Co / Selb Bavaria Germany / Heinrich; the cups add the number 1735. Both saucers and cups are also hand-signed "Anna Marie 1965." Price: $14

Schoffel
Small Hand-Made
Decorative Vase

from Alpine Germany

A small, elegantly hand-decorated vase from Schoffel, Germany, in a rich golden-brown glaze with blue and dark brown design (redware interior).

This little piece is 3 inches high at the rim and about 2.25 inches wide across the center. Its shoulder glaze is richly colored, with brown branches and blue berries.

The piece is in very good condition. There is a pinpoint-size glaze pop to the rim, which appears original to manufacture. There are no other chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, fleabites, or crazing. It has the original foil (paper) label on the bottom, which reads: A / SCHOFFEL / HANDARBEIT.

Price: $15

Small Hand-Decorated Vase
Marked "Germany" (pre-World War II)

[Still doing research on this piece.]

Heinrich & Co. Bavaria Cup and saucer

Lovely "Senta"
Cup and Saucer from Heinrich & Co.
Selb, Bavaria, Germany

This lovely cup and saucer from Heinrich & Company are in lovely condition. The cup is 4 inches wide at the rim, 2 inches at the footed base, and the handle adds another inch. It is decorated around the rim with gold trim, a blue and gold band of stylized flowers, and two garlands of pink, yellow, and blue flowers. The upper part is a cream colr, and below the bottom gold trim it is pure white. The gold trim is solid on the cup edges and inside. The saucer is 6 inches across and has the same patterns (see photos below for detailed closeups), but has lost some of its inner gold trim, as you can see from the photos.

Both pieces are in excellent condition, with no cracks, hairlines, or crazing. The colors and detail are rich on both pieces. The bottom of the cup is marked with a crown logo, then H&Co / Selb / Bavaria / Germany / Heinrich & Co. / Senta. In fainter writing is a "V" and the number 22. The saucer has an identical mark, except the number is 38.
