Joseph Rieber Porzellanfabriken
"Bavaria U.S. Zone" Creamer

This listing is for a nicely decorated delicate porcelain creamer from Rieber Porcelain in Mitterteich, Bavaria. What makes it special is the Rieber mark for "Bavaria U.S. Zone" (at the end of World War II). It's nicely decorated in a multi-color spongeware design of rust (orange), and blue on a yellow and white base.

This piece measures 3 inches high and 2.5 inches wide across the foot. It is in very good condition, with no signs of use or wear; there is one pinhead-size fleabite on the inside edge of the foot (not visible), which feels original to manufacture. The bottom is clearly marked in green: "Rieber / Mitterteich / Bavaria / U.S. Zone." Price: $15.00.

Fabulous Royal Bayreuth Square Plate
Black Rim, Floral Design

A wonderful gold trimmed plate from Royal Bayreuth, with a wide black rim, and a richly colored bouquet in the center of the cream-white base.

At 8.75 inches wide, this plate is in good condition. The black trim shows light wear, and the gold verge in the interior is very faint (the outer gold trim is very intact). The flowers in the center are gorgeously colored (better than the photos show). There are no chips, cracks, flakes, or fleabites, nor any visible crazing or utensil marks that I can see.

The plate is clearly marked with a Royal Bayreuth mark that I believe is the current one (used since about 1970). It shows 2 lions hold a shield with the letter T (Tettau Porcelain Factory), and the words "Royal Bayreuth / Bavaria." There is also a green stamp for "Germany." Price: $15.00.

7 Gold Encrusted Decorative 8.25" Plates
Royal Tettau

Marked "Germany U.S. Zone"

A gorgeous set of seven (7) decorative plates with gold-encrusted embossed rims, featuring a wide greenish-blue band on the interior verge. These plates are clearly marked Germany, U.S. Zone, dating them to post-1945 to early 1950s. The maker is Royal Tettau.

These plates are in very good to excellent condition. There is almost no wear to the gold trim, and no chips or cracks on any of the pieces. One plate has a couple of brown specks that are underglaze and original to manufacture. Each plate measures 8.25 inches wide. Price: $50.00

Decorative 10.25" Bowl
Schramberg

Majolika (Majolica)

A gorgeous hand-crafted majolica ("Majolika") bowl from Schramberg (Germany), decorated with a country mountainside scene, with farmhouse, chickens, and trees. It measures 10.25 inches wide across the rim and sits 2 inches high.

This bowl is only in fair condition. The hand-painted front display is gorgeous (the light spots in the photo are due to camera flash). But there is a very large chip on the underside of the rim at the bottom, along witih two very shallow glaze flakes on the outer rim. There is coarse crazing on the underside, but not on the face.

The bottom has a clear shield mark for SMF, along with the words "Majolika / Schramberg / Handgemalt / 1." There is also an impressed underglaze number. Price: $15.00

Schoffel
Small Hand-Made
Decorative Vase

from Alpine Germany

A small, elegantly hand-decorated vase from Schoffel, Germany, in a rich golden-brown glaze with blue and dark brown design (redware interior).

This little piece is 3 inches high at the rim and about 2.25 inches wide across the center. Its shoulder glaze is richly colored, with brown branches and blue berries.

The piece is in very good condition. There is a pinpoint-size glaze pop to the rim, which appears original to manufacture. There are no other chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, fleabites, or crazing. It has the original foil (paper) label on the bottom, which reads: A / SCHOFFEL / HANDARBEIT.

Price: $15

Small Hand-Decorated Vase
Marked "Germany" (pre-World War II)

[Still doing research on this piece.]

Heinrich & Co. Bavaria Cup and saucer

Lovely "Senta"
Cup and Saucer from Heinrich & Co.
Selb, Bavaria, Germany

This lovely cup and saucer from Heinrich & Company are in lovely condition. The cup is 4 inches wide at the rim, 2 inches at the footed base, and the handle adds another inch. It is decorated around the rim with gold trim, a blue and gold band of stylized flowers, and two garlands of pink, yellow, and blue flowers. The upper part is a cream colr, and below the bottom gold trim it is pure white. The gold trim is solid on the cup edges and inside. The saucer is 6 inches across and has the same patterns (see photos below for detailed closeups), but has lost some of its inner gold trim, as you can see from the photos.

Both pieces are in excellent condition, with no cracks, hairlines, or crazing. The colors and detail are rich on both pieces. The bottom of the cup is marked with a crown logo, then H&Co / Selb / Bavaria / Germany / Heinrich & Co. / Senta. In fainter writing is a "V" and the number 22. The saucer has an identical mark, except the number is 38. Price: $12.00
