Unmarked ElegantFloral Design Small Plate |

Lovely 7.25-inch plate that seems to be older than I thought when I bought it (I thought it was pretty new). All the decoration is under the glaze and appears done by hand. The mark on the back is pretty indecipherable. I've reproduced it (poorly, my camera can't handle the detail) below in an adjusted format and the original turquoise-green color. About all I can make out are the large initials RL and in the circle at the bottom left the word "Italy." |

Two lovely plates from Vietri, with a colorful design of rich brownish-red olives with green leaves; the rim is brown and yellow, with Green script around the edges. These delightful plates are 8.5 inches wide. They are in very good condition, with rich colors and designs, and no flaws that I can find. Both are stamped on the bottom with the Vietri "Italian Ceramics Company" mark. Price: $15 for pair. |

Amazing 20th
Century Modern A very solid Italian ashtray with what I believe is called a "polychrome" glaze, in a very mid-century modern (Eames) design and color pattern. The piece is signed on the bottom "Italy / 1058 / Raymor." The design of this stunning ashtray is very "turbulent," with a glaze that combines stormy reddish-orange, green, yellow, and black—truly an amazing vision for a glaze combination, in a rough textured finish. This wonderful piece measures about 8-3/8 inches across the rim and 1.5 inches high at the edge. The one serious flaw is a half-inch chip next to the rest for the cigarette (shown in the photos at bottom). Price: $12.00 |
