Enoch Wood & Sons
"Cape Cod" Creamer
Burslem, Staffordshire, England

A pretty blue-trimmed small creamer or pitcher from Enoch Wood & Sons, in a blue floral and leaf pattern called "Cape Cod."

This small vintage creamer dates to about 1931 (according to the mark as dated in Kovels' dictionary of marks). It is in very good condition.

This piece measures 4.5 inches long from spout tip to handle end, 3.25 inches wide, and just under 2.5 inches high at the top of the handle. It is marked on the bottom with a logo of a man holding a sign for "Woods / Burslem / England." It also reads "Cape Cod" and the names (and dates) Enoch 1784 and Ralph 1750. Price: $9.00.

Arthur Wood, Staffordshire, England:
Elegant Floral Biscuit Jar with Lid

A very lovely jar with lid from Arthur Wood (Staffordshire, England), in an elegant design with floral transferware decoration.

This biscuit jar is in great condition. It measures 7 inches high from the base to the finial on the lid; it is 5 inches wide at the shoulder, 4.5 inches wide at the base. The floral decoration is fully intact on all six sides and on the lid, as is the gold trim.

This lovely piece has no cracks, hairlines, chips, or flakes that I can find. There is light but visible crazing throughout (as can be seen in the photos). For a vintage piece, it is in very good to excellent condition.

The piece has several marks. One is a faint green stamped mark for Arthur Wood, England, along with a gold stamped number 5868 (and what looks like a "C"). There is also an incised underglaze mark for "Arthur Wood" and "England." Price: $15.00.
