Johnson
Brothers, England: A gorgeous round vegetable bowl from Johnson Brothers (Staffordshire, England) in a richly colored pattern called "Gretchen" (green). The tan bowl is decorated with a border of red and yellow flowers with green leaves. This piece measures 8-3/8 inches wide at the rim and 2.5 inches high. It is in good condition, with only medium-light utensil marks on the base. There are no chips or cracks or crazing. See replacements.com item 45645 for verification, described as 1974 - 1978. It is clearly marked on the bottom with the Johnson Bros. "Old Granite" and Gretchen marks. Price $12.00.
Johnson
Brothers, England: Two very pretty Johnson Brothers (England mark) dinnerware pieces from the "Friendly Village" series: a bread and butter plate ("Sugar Maples") and a square cereal bowl ("Covered Bridge"). The small plate and bowl (each measures 6.25 inches wide) are in very good to excellent condition. There are no signs of utensil marks, nor any craze lines or scratches, chips, cracks, fleabites, or flakes that I can see. (I will include a second B&B plate, but I'm not listing it since it has an under-rim chip). Both pieces are clearly stamped with the mailbox logo for Johnson Brothers' Friendly Village series, along with the pattern names. Price for pair: $15.00. |
