This vintage piece measures 7.5 inches high and 6 inches long (from bill to tail). It is in very good to excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It is even very clean on the interior. Shawnee Pottery
Country Boy at High Stump
Planter # 532

Offered for auction: A very cute Shawnee planter called the "Country Boy at High Stump" (there is another version with a short stump). The boy looks like Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer, with fishing pole in hand, bright blue eyes and yellow hair and straw hat, with airbrushed red glaze highlighting the stump.

This terrific vintage 1950s planter measures about 6.25 inches high at the top of the hat, and about 5 inches wide. It is in very good to excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, flakes, or crazing. It's a very charming little piece of Shawnee Pottery.

This piece is shown on page 29 of the Mangus publication, "Shawnee Pottery: An Identification and Value Guide." It has an incised mark on the underside for "U.S.A. 532". Price: $10.00.
