Hekla Pottery (Iceland) Bowl:
Wonderful Shape,
Great Glaze and Design

Offered for auction: A wonderfully designed bowl or planter in a rich shingled pattern with incised glyphs around the base, finished in a gray glaze with white bands in the center, from Hekla Pottery of Iceland.

This very solid piece is in good condition. There is one light glaze flake (visible in the photo at top right), and no chips, cracks, or hairlines. The inside shows that this piece was used as a planter, because there are mineral or water stains around the center..

The bowl measures 3" tall and 5.5" wide across the rim. The bottom has an incised mark that reads "HEKLA / No. 3."
